Carlow Tourism Strategy
Future Analytics Consulting in partnership with Ann Cronin are delighted to have been appointed by Carlow County Council and Carlow Tourism to prepare the Carlow Tourism Strategy and Marketing Plan 2020-2025. The objective of this strategy will be to highlight priority actions and areas to unlock the significant benefits that an increase in tourism activity can mean for the county.
There are many reasons to attract overseas and domestic visitors to the relatively undiscovered gem of County Carlow, from outdoor adventure in the scenic Blackstairs Mountains and the beautiful Barrow River – a haven for walkers and kayakers, to the wonderful gardens on the Carlow Garden Trail, such as Altamont House and Gardens. Visitors with an interest in heritage and culture in this part of Ireland’s Ancient East will be interested in the county’s rich built heritage including Duckett’s Grove, Huntington Castle and Brownshill Dolmen.
Carlow Tourism have developed a range of trails to highlight the many layers of the tourism offer in the county, including the Carlow Garden Trail, Carlow Food Trail, Trails of the Saints and South Carlow Adventure Trail, which are important in dispersing visitors throughout the county, increasing dwell time and encouraging overnight stays.
