The Government has announced the Local Infrastructure Housing Activation Fund (LIHAF), as part of the Rebuilding Ireland programme, with the approval for 34 public infrastructure projects across 15 Local Authority areas, €226 million for strategic infrastructure and 23,000 homes by 2021.
The Chairman’s Foreword highlights that “we see from recent years that a shortage of affordable market housing in some areas has quickly transferred into pressure in other sectors, particularly the private and social rental sectors, while in other areas housing remains vacant for long periods”.
Future Analytics Consulting has assisted BAM Property in securing planning permission for a 303-bedspace student accommodation scheme in Dublin 8. This forms part of a larger project that also includes a 202-bedroom hotel, business incubation hubs and office space. The development will play an important role in the ongoing regeneration of the Liberties and Newmarket areas of the city.
