Staff Spotlight – Daniel Moody
Planning Consultant Daniel Moody started his career as an intern with FAC in the summer of 2014 before returning a year later as a full-time member of staff. He graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Geography, before progressing to UCD, where he completed his Masters in Regional and Urban Planning in 2015.
In the past year, Daniel has worked on a variety of different project types, including policy analysis, socioeconomic reports, market analysis, community engagement, planning consultancy and strategic planning for public and private sector clients.
His role has included a focus on the student accommodation sector, examining supply, demand and socioeconomic issues. Articles in the Irish Times and Sunday Business Post have featured Daniel discussing the forthcoming supply of student accommodation bedspaces in Dublin.
Daniel is also involved with supporting accommodation providers lodging planning applications and advising private sector organisations assessing the market, and has enjoyed being involved in and leading a diverse range of projects.
He is building on the broad experience of the planning sector he has already amassed to work towards becoming a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and a Corporate Member of the Irish Planning Institute.
Daniel is a big fan of doughnuts and chicken wings and a talented baker whose millionaire shortbread is legendary. These excesses are balanced by playing rugby and crushing it at the gym. Always ready with a winning smile and a dreadful joke to cheer everyone up; he’s a ray of sunshine in FAC!
