Staff Spotlight – Enda Duignan
Roscommon native Enda Duignan brought his extensive professional and commercial planning expertise to FAC just over a year ago, on his return from a four-year sojourn in Melbourne. While there, he worked with a planning consultancy specialising in securing planning approval for a variety of residential and commercial developments across Melbourne and the State of Victoria.
As a Senior Planning Consultant, and Corporate Member of the Irish Planning Institute he uses his skills to provide specialist town planning advice to a range of public and private sector clients, and is responsible for project managing intensive commercial, residential and retail planning projects which requires the input from multiple sub-consultants. In addition, he achieved successful outcomes for his clients in Planning Appeals with An Bord Pleanála.
A BSc in Spatial Planning from Dublin Institute of Technology, was followed by an MSc in Human Geography and Planning from Utrecht University, in the Netherlands. Here, he co-authored a peer-reviewed research paper on the perceptions of employment and amenity changes in Dublin’s Docklands which was published in the ‘Irish Geography’ journal in 2012.
Enda likes to travel when he has the chance, and has recently visited North America and Japan. He has a keen interest in fitness and can regularly be found in the gym before or after work. His healthy lifestyle has had a positive influence on the rest of the staff in FAC, who are slightly less likely to be seen eating chocolate for breakfast since his arrival!
