Minister Murphy announces Planning Initiatives
Speaking at the Irish Planning Institute’s Autumn Conference last Friday (6th October), Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, Eoghan Murphy TD, gave a strong speech addressing what he sees as an imbalance between commercial and residential development.
The minister stated, “While our cities are growing as major centres of employment, they are not growing quickly enough as places to live in”.
The Minister outlined his ambition that the government will, by end-November, bring forward proposals to augment and broaden existing 2015 statutory guidelines on apartments, addressing some new issues and innovations.
