Planning Permission Granted for Residential Development at Fortunestown, Citywest
South Dublin County Council has granted permission to our client Cedarvale Commercial Ltd. for a mixed-use development consisting of a total of 129 residential units including terraced houses, duplex units and apartments, shops and a crèche. Located beside the Fortunestown Luas stop, across from Citywest Shopping Centre and close to Citywest Business Park, the development will help define and knit together this new sustainable neighbourhood and prove to be a major positive addition to the vicinity with the highest standards in architectural, landscape and urban design.
FAC is delighted to have achieved this permission working closely in association with PA Architects, AECOM, Ronan MacDiarmada & Associates Landscape Architects, Kavanagh Burke Consulting Engineers, and Altemar Environmental Consultants.
The overall layout of the proposed development follows a street grid pattern set out in the Fortunestown Local Area Plan 2012, presenting an urban edge to the north of the Fortunestown Lane/ Luas line, a central northwest-southeast main street linking City West Shopping Centre to future development lands to the north, and a parkland area along the Baldonnell Upper stream to the east. FAC and our design team colleagues worked through complex site issues and integration with the general area with South Dublin County Council.
