Client: Galway City Council
FAC was commissioned by Galway City Council to prepare a report outlining the methodological processes involved in modelling for population growth in Galway City.
This work was undertaken by FAC for consideration as part of the draft Galway City Development Plan 2017 – 2023 and provided an overview of projected population growth in Galway City over the period 2012 – 2026, alongside an analysis of projected housing requirements and retail turnover, spend and additional floor space requirements. In doing so, the methodological basis for each model has been provided, including the key assumptions used as part of the development and application of each process. In undertaking this commissioned work, FAC used its expertise in strategic spatial planning, socioeconomic data analysis and understanding of national and regional policy to guide sustainable growth in the county.
