RESILENS Receives Positive Feedback at Final Review
Future Analytics Consulting are delighted to announce that RESILENS received positive feedback from the European Commission on its final tool outputs. On the 21st of June, FAC coordinated the final review of the RESILENS project in Lisbon, where the project consortium presented the research outputs and findings to representatives of the European Commission. The consortium, EC expert reviewers and the Commission’s RESILENS Project Officer were graciously hosted by Camara Municipal de Lisboa (Lisbon City Council) in the Galveias Palace Library.
RESILENS – ‘Realising European ReSILiencE for Critical INfraStructure’ was a three-year project funded under the Horizon 2020 Programme. The project was coordinated by FAC and included eleven other partners from across Europe – ranging from universities to municipal authorities to research and technical organisations.
The project culminated in the development of an online platform and toolkit to aid Critical Infrastructure decision-makers in enhancing the resilience of their operations and response capacities. Specifically, the project developed a RESILENS Decision Support Platform (RES-DSP) which encompassed as its major component a European Resilience Management Guideline (ERMG). This is based on the principles of risk management and vulnerability reduction, thereby bridging the link between these two technically and conceptually interdependent processes. Resilience management tools including a Resilience Management Matrix and Audit Toolkit and an E-Learning Hub formed part of the ERMG and are also available as stand-alone applications on the RES-DSP.
The end user engagement aspect of the project was highly praised by the Commission and partners such as Irish Water, Basst, EDP Distribuição, and Camara Municipal de Lisboa (Lisbon City Council) presented on the benefits of engaging with RESILENS over the past three years.
