Greater Dublin Drainage is a major infrastructural project led by Irish Water. The project, which is being undertaken to provide a much-needed wastewater treatment capacity for the Dublin region, comprises an underground orbital sewer and two pumping stations; a wastewater treatment plant (WwTP) on a 23-hectare site at Clonshaugh; and an outfall pipe from the wastewater treatment plant discharging 1km north-east of Ireland’s Eye.
