Kerdiffstown Park Feasibility Study
Future Analytics Consulting were commissioned to assess the feasibility of developing a 30ha regional park, along with a state of the art all weather sports pitch facility, at Kerdiffstown, County Kildare. Kildare County Council wished to ensure that the operational costs of the park, over a 25-year period, would be covered by the revenue generated by the lease of playing pitches.
The study demonstrated the revenue that could be expected from the pitches based on similar facilities elsewhere. Future Analytics undertook consultation with sports clubs in the county which established demand with costs researched and proofed against similar facilities. The study found that operational costs, including life-cycle costs, would be covered by revenue over the 25-year period. The research was undertaken in a format compatible with the Public Spending Code. Analysis included quantitative and qualitative public good benefits in terms of the benefit to the community, and to the exchequer in terms of health and way being. These factors will have a positive long-term impact on the overall level of fitness in the area and a positive effect on the reputation of the area for sport and for civic pride.
