Dublin City Council confirm new traffic arrangements on north and south city centre quays

New Traffic Arrangements for Dublin’s City Centre Quays
Share

New traffic arrangements will come into effect on the north and south city centre quays from Sunday 20th August 2017 to coincide with the Luas Cross City tram testing and to ensure that road users have time to adapt to these permanent changes before day time testing starts in September.

These traffic changes are expected to benefit road users and public transport users alike by:

– Reducing the current delays experienced by public transport users

– Ensuring that Luas Cross City can be introduced with minimal delays to its services

– Ensuring that far more people can move easily and efficiently through this area of the city than at present

– Ensuring all public transport users will benefit from Luas Cross City

It is predicted that these permanent traffic changes will lead to an increase in people using public transport while still allowing access to the quays for general traffic.
