FAC Develop Stair4Security eLearning Tool

Share

Here at FAC, our European Research Unit are engaged in several H2020 projects with an overarching mission to build a more secure and resilient Europe via Research and Innovation.  We are privileged to be working with partners such as CEN-CENELEC, TFC and INSIGHT, Galway and leading the development and roll out of an eLearning Tool for the European H2020 project STAIR4SECURITY.

The main objective of STAIR4SECURITY is to create a collaborative platform as single entry point for information on the security sector stemming primarily from research activities in order to allow better governance of standardization needs in the Disaster Resilience and Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNe) sectors to be realised. The platform will be practitioner / policy making driven. It aims to permit a better overview of current and new projects being at, national, European and international level; ensuring more coordination between all stakeholders and responding more efficiently and timely to the critical needs following an agreed strategic vision and identified priorities.

In order to engage with our stakeholders throughout the eLearning build, FAC participated in the inspiring Meeting of Minds webinar, which took place on Friday, May 29th, as part of the project’s engagement process. Horizon 2020 projects, such as INCLUDING, FIRE-IN, ENCIRCLE and NO-FEAR attended the event and engaged in an open, bi-directional discussion.

We presented progress-to-date on the eLearning tool, designed to support the STAIR4SECURITY platform. FAC demonstrated a beta version of the tool and its features, which was well-received by the participants. An update regarding the platform and its current state was also provided, with a specific focus on resource management, communities and network interactions, and interoperability.

We collected valuable feedback from our colleagues, helping us to further our work and to validate the project’s outcomes.

These webinars will initially be held on an invitation basis, targeting ongoing H2020 CBRNe/DRR projects under the auspice of the European Commission (DG-Home). More open sessions are planned for later in the year and next year. We look forward to more engaging and productive input, ensuring STAIR4SECURITY meets end-user needs.
