The launch of “Economic analysis of productivity in the Irish Construction Sector” – a collaboration with KPMG Ireland and TU Dublin
In collaboration with KPMG Ireland and peer-reviewed by Technological University Dublin, Future Analytics Consulting is proud to see the launch of: “Economic analysis of productivity in the Irish construction sector”. This report, commissioned by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform (DPER), aims to understand and address the reasons for low levels of productivity in the Irish construction sector.
A collaborative, sectoral wide strategy to drive increases in productivity across the full life cycle of a project is presented, from initiation, planning and design through to execution (construction), performance and monitoring. A roadmap for delivery involving the coordinated participation of Government, State Agencies and private industry is established, with 8 cross sectoral recommendations underpinned by a total of 36 actions.
While the research was undertaken in 2019 and therefore does not take into account the impact of Covid-19, it was discussed at the most recent online meeting of the Construction Sector Group (CSG) held on 22 May 2020. A process is underway to consider the work in the context of Covid-19 and wider sectoral issues – this will inform the work programme for the CSG which is currently being finalised and is due to be published in the coming weeks.
