Reimagining Phibsborough

FAC Managing Director William Hynes appeared in last week’s Irish Times in connection with the Reimagining Phibsborough initiative.

The energetic organisers of community and arts festival Phizzfest collaborated with the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) and other urban environment professionals, including Dr Hynes, to organise a design review of Phibsborough centre.

The review team discussed how to reinvigorate the village and make it a more pleasant space for residents.

Plans to regenerate the urban centre include a redevelopment of the 1960s brutalist shopping centre and complete remodelling of Dalymount Park football stadium. Other suggestions for the area include sinking the feeder routes of the N2 and N3 roads to lighten the heavy traffic that passes through Doyle’s Corner.

“In recent years Future Analytics Consulting (FAC) has undertaken extensive community and stakeholder consultation across our various European research projects and national studies. The Reimagining Phibsborough initiative is a fantastic opportunity to champion a truly community-planned vision for the local area and FAC is delighted to play the role of providing the evidence-based inputs to the project”.
The results of the RIAI design review are on display at Darc Space Gallery, 26 North Great George’s Street, until Saturday, July 9th.
