Prof. William Hynes
William is a Chartered Town Planner, Chartered Surveyor, Urban and Regional Economist, and Managing Director of Future Analytics Consulting.
William has extensive experience providing expert advice to public and private sector clients in the areas of strategic spatial planning including at national, regional, county and local levels, demography, housing and economic analysis and forecasting that is fully integrated with spatial planning, health planning, retail impact assessment and infrastructure planning. William is a visiting professor at University College Cork, Ireland.
Stephen M. Purcell
Stephen is an award-winning and published Chartered Surveyor and Town Planner, and co-owner of Future Analytics Consulting.
With 15 years’ experience in securing planning consent for major projects, the delivery of high-quality strategic planning outcomes and in policy formulation, Stephen is a dynamic, results-focussed consultant. Working across local, national and pan-European projects, he has coordinated multi-disciplinary property development teams to secure consent for thousands of residential units, significant commercial, retail and mixed-development schemes, and led Environmental Impact Assessment processes.
Stephen is passionate about applying an evidence-based approach to all projects, from due diligence and feasibility studies, through to masterplans and securing consent. He is experienced in the application of socio-economic analysis to underpin strategy and project development and has presented widely on planning matters (tv and print media; conference; oral hearings and legal expert witness).
Richard is Chartered Town Planner with 23 years’ experience. He approaches planning as a positive tool, integral to sustainable development.
Richard is a team leader for planning projects, bringing a wealth of experience to development and environmental challenges. His expertise includes Strategic Infrastructure, SHD, EIAR (Screening and Management) and SEA/IIA. Development experience covers commercial, infrastructure and residential projects, planning due diligence and development viability. Richard is a highly effective communicator of procedure and policy advocacy, worked on hundreds of appeals and is an experienced expert witness in oral hearings. Richard has led Masterplans, Town Plans, Community strategies and specialises in Place Management. He is a skilled facilitator in public engagement.
James Sweeney is a Senior GIS and Analytics specialist with 10 years’ experience in interpreting and analysing data to drive business solutions.
Proficient in geospatial analysis, statistics, analytics and socio-economic impact assessment, James has an excellent understanding of business operations and project delivery. His forte is the design of effective methodologies to enable intuitive data analysis. James’ spectrum of expertise ranges from econometrics to health, commercial and residential demand modelling to socio-economic analysis. His expertise in quantifying and interpreting the geographic characteristics of data in order to unveil spatial relationships and trends significantly enhance our outputs with a robust and substantive evidence-basis.
Jamie is a multi-disciplinary specialist and heads up our analytics team. His focus areas are in geospatial analysis, data analytics, population modelling, socio-economic assessment and data visualisation.
Jamie is our senior subject matter expert in Geographic Information Systems (GIS); leveraging geospatial analysis to enrich population modelling, socio-economic assessment and business intelligence. He plays a key role in coordinating the strategic direction and management of the Analytics Team. Working collaboratively with colleagues and clients alike, Jamie uses data to identify, inform and solve complex challenges. His expertise in designing and implementing analytical approaches and methodologies helps underpin the robust and high-quality nature of our research and gives our clients the confidence to predict and plan for future opportunities.
James is a Chartered Town Planner specialising in tourism and urban regeneration with over 15 years’ experience in Ireland and overseas.
James has worked on a wide variety of projects including destination strategies, funding applications, and feasibility assessments. With qualifications and experience in both town planning and tourism, James brings a unique perspective to our projects. His completed projects have common themes of balancing a variety of interests, whilst seeking optimum outcomes for local communities and engaging experiences for visitors – making better places for people to work, visit and live.
Maria is an experienced Associate Director (Planning and Environmental Consulting) with over 10 years' experience in planning, environmental management and the coordination of local, national and pan-European projects.
A central part of the FAC team since 2011, Maria’s experience spans strategic planning, development management, socio-economic analysis, tourism, housing and policy development, environmental impact assessment, infrastructure planning, community consultation and applied research. She also has extensive experience as an Environmental Consultant combining the disciplines of planning, environmental management and assessment. She works with a wide range of industry types in an advisory, monitoring, technical reporting and project management role.
Dr. Sheryl Lynch
Sheryl is an experienced Project Manager and Researcher, leading FAC’s European Research work in areas from sustainable construction to resilient transport.
Sheryl manages delivery of a range of Horizon 2020 projects including BIMcert, PERICLES, FORESEE and Stair4Security. Sheryl contributes to market penetration and exploitation strategies, trials and testing workshops, conducts qualitative research, and writes the resultant reports for the European Commission. She also manages the company blog and social media presence as well as leading the dissemination and communication portfolios for several H2020 work packages. Sheryl is passionate about research and skilled at coordinating multi-disciplinary research teams, pan-European consortia, and project managing strategies, feasibility studies and budgets.
Aoibhin facilitates sustainable development and resilient solutions for clients and communities through robust spatial and data analysis and evidence-based research.
Aoibhin’s skills lie in undertaking robust assessments, stakeholder engagement, pragmatic project management and evidence-based spatial and data analysis. Specifically, she uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to interrogate and communicate complex datasets, solve problems and create innovative solutions. Aoibhin has a range of international experience having managed and contributed to research and analysis for environmental, health, social, socio-economic and climate change assessments, resilience, feasibility and due diligence studies, infrastructure benchmarking, strategic planning and sustainability master planning projects across Europe, Africa, the US, Middle East, Asia and Australia.
Gary is a commercially minded urban planner, experienced in the Planning, Development and Project Management of urban regeneration projects, strategic planning and development plan processes.
Gary has extensive experience managing a variety of complex major residential and mixed-use regeneration projects and strategic land promotions. His project experience comprises a 500-unit mixed-use development in West London, 250-unit scheme in Birmingham City Centre and an 800-unit urban village adjacent to London’s Heathrow airport. Gary’s background includes working directly for a developer which has allowed him to gain a detailed understanding of the commercial sensitives involved at the design stage and when implementing planning permissions. He is a skilled negotiator and experienced in the production of community consultation and stakeholder engagement strategies. Gary is an accomplished director of wider consultant design teams where he applies his project management skills to ensure the timely delivery of projects.
Daniel Moody is an experienced Associate (Planning), having led many public and private sector projects for Future Analytics Consulting over the last 5 years.
Daniel’s primary focus has been: development management, strategic planning and policy development, feasibility reports, site assessments, master planning, market analysis, policy analysis and socio-economic analysis. He has also undertaken constructive lobbying, community engagement and stakeholder consultation activities in support of projects. Daniel has featured in national media (The Irish Times, Sunday Business Post and RTÉ’s Primetime) discussing his research including insights on the student accommodation sector in Ireland.
Akshay is a Senior Software Developer with over 8 years of experience in developing Software and an IAA certified Drone Pilot.
Akshay has worked with clients to build, improve/enhance and support their Software infrastructure with a conscious effort to blend vision with pragmatism. He has worked on a wide area of projects and his ability to work across multi programming languages has helped FAC in providing reliable and robust desktop and web-based solutions for Private, Public and European Commission-funded projects. His recent qualification as a Drone Pilot has helped FAC clients to perform analysis and 3D visualisation of their development sites.
Priscilla is responsible for supporting both office and people management activities at FAC.
Priscilla holds a BA in Psychology, with 10 years’ experience coordinating day to day operations and human resources activities. Since she joined FAC, she has assisted the Operations team on HR processes, facilities management, administrative tasks and general support to the team, facilitating and enhancing the smooth running of the FAC office.
Camilla Vieira is an operations officer, responsible for front of house and people management activities at FAC.
Camilla provides support to the Head of Operations in all business units including administrative, financial and human resource departments, raising and processing invoices and collecting appropriate payment from customers, ensuring that the day-to-day operations at FAC run smoothly.
Dr. Aoife Doyle
Aoife is a qualified spatial planner and experienced researcher working as an Associate within FAC.
Aoife obtained a BSc in Spatial Planning from Dublin Institute of Technology (now TU Dublin), receiving first-class honours. She has significant experience working within several large-scale EU funded research projects (under the EU FP7 and Horizon 2020 programmes). She recently completed her employment-based PhD Programme, specialising in the field of urban resilience and its application within urban planning and development processes.
Killian is an urban planner with broad experience across a range of sectors.
He has specialist experience in socio-economic analysis, policy analysis, social infrastructure delivery, Environmental Impact Assessment, master-planning, housing, local economic policy and stakeholder engagement. He has worked on projects ranging from small-scale housing and commercial developments to large infrastructure projects like Heathrow Airport Expansion. Killian has a commercial approach through previous experience in leading planning consultancies in the UK, with a strong focus on delivering better social outcomes through planning.
Sandra is a Planning Consultant at FAC working towards her Chartership, with experience in successful planning and development management projects across Ireland and India.
Sandra has been actively engaged in the Irish Planning system during the past few years. Her expertise includes preparation and coordination of Strategic Housing Development (SHD) applications, Environmental Impact Assessments, socio-economic assessments, preparation of regular planning applications, appeals and submissions. Her key strengths are cross-functional collaboration, conducting evidence-based research and assessments.
Gracjan possesses a strong knowledge in cartography and the use of geospatial technology in illuminating our understanding the environment.
Previous to his role with FAC, Gracjan has worked in both the public and private sectors managing large geospatial data collections including verifying and processing data collected from a range of sources and carrying out large-scale analyses of spatial information for major projects. Gracjan’s experience across projects includes managing the GIS elements of all projects in a major Irish engineering practice, responsible for the development of scope, costing and delivery of outputs, working with a team of technical project managers. In FAC, Gracjan continues to manage the roll out of major GIS-based projects and data and mapping support to strengthen the evidence base of planning, socio-economic and research projects.
Daniël is a GIS and data analyst working as part of the FAC Analytics team.
Daniël has experience in development economics and assessments across multiple industries, as well as market planning and data analysis in the retail food and beverage industry in South Africa. At FAC, Daniël works on national projects, such as County Development Plans, and European Commission projects under the H2020 Smart Cities and Communities call, to provide bespoke data monitoring, analysis and mapping solutions.
Dean is a highly creative and multi-talented Senior Creative Designer with extensive experience in multimedia, marketing and print design.
As lead creative designer, Dean’s excellent interpersonal skills allow an understanding of complex client requirements, and the ability to develop distinctive and creative visual solutions. Dean’s specialist areas include visual identity, print, brand and web design. Dean is adept at using the entire Adobe Creative Suite. Dean has added analogue & digital photography and animation to his ever-growing skill set as he continues to contribute significant value to client’s objectives through graphic visualisations.
Declan Sullivan is a qualified Construction Project Manager currently based at Dublin Port Company as Client Liaison/Project Manager.
Declan Sullivan has over 4 years’ experience in Project Management, working closely with project managers and other technical members to provide support on a large scale Civil/Marine construction project at Dublin Port, Ireland. Adept in monitoring project schedules, accurate minute taking, project reporting, document control and ensuring deliverable deadlines are met. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Delivery of excellent client interface and support to ensure desired brief and scope of works is met.
Anna Yankulova is a PRINCE2 Certified Project Manager and Research Coordinator for European Commission Horizon 2020 projects.
Anna has significant industry experience and has managed and been part of a broad portfolio of projects while working for the multinational professional services network PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Switzerland and Italy. She has extensive knowledge of exploitation and commercialisation of project results, open innovation in collaborative networks and new business models, and have worked with many public and private organisations. In FAC, she coordinates Horizon 2020 projects in the fields of critical infrastructure resilience, security standardisation and smart cities.
Martin is a GIS & Research Consultant with experience in GIS, Remote Sensing, R and Python.
Martin has experience with spatial analytics across a variety of Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS Suite, QGIS, SAGA), Tableau, R and Python. Martin has a Masters in Urban Climatology and Climate Modelling. At FAC Martin works on both National and European projects as part of the Analytics Team, with a focus on demographic analysis and mapping.
Mallika Singh is a Research Officer in the European Research Team of Future Analytics Consulting Ltd.
Mallika has substantial qualitative and quantitative research and practical experience of different functions of management. Since joining FAC, she is working on qualitative research, trials and testing, and stakeholder and community engagement for European Commission H2020 projects in the domain of resource efficiency and Smart Cities. She also works with European clients in drafting proposals for Dissemination and Communication work packages for prospective H2020 projects. Mallika uses her interpersonal skills and academic acumen to achieve high quality results across FAC’s portfolio of projects.
Katie McKay is a Planning Consulting.
Katie has recently completed a Masters in Regional and Urban Planning at University College Dublin. She also holds a BA in Geography and French and a Masters in Geography: Cities, Space and Culture from University College Cork. Katie worked part-time with FAC while completing her masters and has recently joined the team full time. She works closely with senior members of staff on an array of projects in the fields of development management and socio-economic analysis.
Oliver Quirke is a data analyst working as part of the FAC analytics team.
Oliver completed an internship with FAC while studying for his degree in Geomatics. He has since graduated and joined the team in the position of GIS and Research Consultant. Oliver has experience with Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS suite, QGIS), statistical analysis, surveying, laser scanning, cartography and CAD systems. At FAC, Oliver works on spatial analysis of demographics, statistical analysis and mapping solutions.
Shane McCormack is a Graduate Planner.
Shane has recently completed his Masters in Regional and Urban Planning at University College Dublin. Prior to this, he completed his undergraduate degree in Planning, Geography & Environmental Policy. He works closely with senior staff members and his work mainly focus on development management and research.
Maurice Healy is working on a part-time basis with FAC while completing his Masters in Regional and Urban Planning.
Maurice has a BA in Geography and Philosophy and is currently studying Regional and Urban Planning at University College Dublin. He will complete a thesis on best-practice in Green Infrastructure at the Department of Urban Planning and Policy in the University of Illinois, Chicago. In his time at FAC Maurice has provided support to public and private sector projects and has made significant contributions to emerging research around Strategic Housing Developments in Ireland.
